An unexpected stay in Heyburn, Idaho, and a diagnosis once home.
Well… On our way out of the Ogden area, making the climb out of Utah toward Idaho, we finally hit a point where we needed to make some kind of change. We had been adding coolant at a more rapid pace, about every hour. We also stopped using our exhaust brake after leaving Soldier Creek….
Soldier Creek Campground, Strawberry Reservoir
After another long day dealing with the coolant leak, we managed to continue on our trek home, and made it into Soldier Creek Campground. The first sign of any issue occurred after we stopped for lunch in Winter Park.
Colorado Springs
I want to apologize for the delay in posting. We’ve been really busy the past few days here back in Boise, installing electronics on the trailer and then cleaning it out so we can drop it off at the dealer for some warranty issues. I also want to apologize for the lack of details in…
We make it to Silt, Colorado
Our second stop on the way to Colorado Springs took us to the KOA Campground in Silt, Colorado. [googlemaps https://www.google.com/maps/embed?pb=!1m14!1m8!1m3!1d12306.847598090635!2d-107.6581903!3d39.5435528!3m2!1i1024!2i768!4f13.1!3m3!1m2!1s0x0%3A0x99ac4465e4fa95c8!2sSilt+%2F+Colorado+River+KOA!5e0!3m2!1sen!2sus!4v1501872480819&w=600&h=450] This is a decent KOA, and the ladies behind the counter that checked us in were very nice and happy to give us any information we needed.
The Shakedown Trip Begins!
Having just picked up our trailer a couple of days beforehand, with just enough time to toss some essentials and some groceries inside, we hit the road on a trip that will take us to Colorado Springs and back. The first stop in our Itinerary takes us to the Painted Rocks Campground, in Yuba State…
Hello there.
We have our new home! I’m still reeling. The inspection for this trailer went far smoother than any other inspection I’ve done on one of these things. We only found one minor defect, and it really is minor. The front window shade on the left side in the front living area won’t roll all the…
Farewell to You…
Well, today’s the day. Today’s the day we say goodbye to our 2 year old Wind River 280RLS travel trailer. It was a great trailer. All of our experiences with Outdoors RV in LaGrande, OR have been great so far. Prior to this trailer we had a 2010 Timber Ridge, made by the same company….
Trailer Arrives at Dealer
Well, our new home made it into town! And it looks good! We haven’t taken delivery yet, but it arrived from the shipper to the dealer today. We went in to talk about a washer and dryer set, and a couple of other things, and took a couple of pictures.
One last trip in the Wind River, and a new toy.
This memorial weekend, we went out with Nate’s folks to celebrate one last quiet weekend with the old trailer. We decided to head down to Duck Valley Indian Reservation, which is on the border of Idaho and Nevada. Its south of Bruneau, which in turn is south of Mountain Home. This is probably one of…
